Therapy for High-Achieving Women in Miami
You're the one running the firm, closing the deal, managing the household in two languages, and showing up flawless at every event. But behind the polished exterior — the anxiety never stops. In a city where the pressure to look perfect, perform perfectly, and never slow down is baked into the culture, I help ambitious women in Miami finally exhale.
I understand the pressures of ambitious women in Miami.
I'm Dr. Jaime Bercuson — a Stanford-trained psychologist licensed in Florida who has spent nearly two decades working with women who look like they have everything figured out but privately feel like they're barely holding on.
I get the unique pressures of high-achieving women in Miami — the high-stakes careers in finance, law, medicine, and real estate. The image-conscious culture that leaves no room for vulnerability. The dual-language family dynamics and relentless social scene. The expectation to be everything to everyone while making it look effortless. That performance has a cost, and you deserve a psychologist who sees it clearly.
The things Miami women don't say out loud
High-Functioning Anxiety
You're the one everyone leans on — sharp, driven, always composed. But the mental chatter never stops, the to-do list runs on a loop, and you can't remember the last time you felt genuinely at ease — not just "sitting still" relaxed, but actually calm inside.
Perfectionism
The career, the body, the home, the social calendar, the children's school applications — nothing is ever quite right. In Miami, the standard isn't just high; it's visible. You set the bar impossibly high and punish yourself when you can't clear it, and the audience never looks away.
Burnout & Overwhelm
You're running on Cuban coffee and willpower but you keep going because who else is going to do it? You've lost touch with what you actually want underneath all the obligations. The hustle culture that never stops has left the exhaustion feeling physical now — not just mental.
Perimenopause & Mood Changes
The anxiety hit out of nowhere — or maybe it got louder. Sleep disruption, irritability, brain fog, a sense that you're losing yourself. Hormonal shifts are real, and they deserve more than "just push through it." Especially in a city that worships youth.
Life Transitions
A relocation to Miami, a career pivot, kids leaving for college, a relationship that's shifting, building a life far from family. Change — even wanted change — can trigger anxiety you didn't expect and grief you don't have language for yet.
The Loneliness of Success
You have the life people envy — the waterfront condo, the career, the social circle — and you still feel empty, anxious, or quietly resentful. In Miami, saying that out loud feels impossible. It's not ungrateful. It's honest — and it's the starting point for real change.
Evidence-based therapy, not vague advice
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) — two of the most researched and effective approaches for anxiety. CBT produces large effect sizes (g > 0.80) for anxiety disorders. These aren't abstract theories; they're practical, structured frameworks that give you tools you can use between sessions.
I also take a whole-person perspective — paying attention to how stress shows up in your body, your sleep, your hormones, and your relationships. Anxiety doesn't exist in a vacuum, and neither does healing.
Sessions are 50 minutes via secure, HIPAA-compliant video. You can be at home in Coral Gables, in your office in Brickell, or anywhere in Florida with privacy and a reliable connection.

Intake sessions are $225 and ongoing sessions are $200 (50 minutes). I'm in-network with Aetna in Florida. I also accept private pay, HSA/FSA cards, and provide monthly superbills for out-of-network reimbursement — many PPO plans reimburse 50–80% after the deductible.
I offer teletherapy via secure, HIPAA-compliant video. While sessions aren't in-person, I'm licensed in Florida and serve clients throughout Miami-Dade, Broward, and all of Florida. Research shows teletherapy is as effective as in-person therapy for anxiety, and it offers more flexibility — no fighting I-95 traffic or hunting for parking in Brickell.
I'm based in Mountain Time (MT), which is two hours behind Eastern Time. Sessions are scheduled in Mountain Time, but I have availability throughout the day, including times that work well for Miami clients. Many clients actually appreciate the time difference — an early-morning or lunchtime slot on my end aligns perfectly with their schedules. The consistency of teletherapy means your session time stays the same regardless of where you are.
