Therapy for High-Achieving Women in Los Angeles

LA rewards the performance — the curated life, the optimized body, the effortless success. But behind closed doors, many women here are running on anxiety and exhaustion. You don't need another wellness trend. You need real, evidence-based therapy with someone who gets it.

Your Los Angeles Psychologist

Stanford-trained. Nearly two decades of experience.

I'm Dr. Jaime Bercuson — a California-licensed psychologist with a PsyD from the PAU-Stanford PsyD Consortium and nearly two decades of clinical experience working with driven, accomplished women who look like they have it all figured out but privately feel like they're barely holding on.

I understand the unique pressures of LA life — the entertainment, media, and creative industry grind, the comparison culture amplified by social media, the pressure to look, feel, and be "on" at all times. Whether you're in Santa Monica, Brentwood, or Beverly Hills, you deserve a psychologist who sees past the performance and takes your inner experience seriously.

What I Treat

The things LA women don't post about

High-Functioning Anxiety

The LA performance — you're crushing it at work, your calendar is color-coded, your kids are in the right schools. But the mental chatter never stops. You can't remember the last time you felt genuinely at ease, not just "doing yoga" at ease — actually calm inside.

Perfectionism

Body, career, motherhood — all of it. The bar is impossibly high and you punish yourself when you can't clear it. In a city that commodifies perfection, this pattern gets reinforced everywhere you look. You know it's not sustainable, but you can't seem to stop.

Burnout & Overwhelm

Industry burnout, creative burnout, parenting burnout — or all three at once. You're running on fumes but you keep going because who else is going to do it? The exhaustion feels physical now, not just mental. You've lost touch with what you actually want underneath all the obligations.

Perimenopause & Mood Changes

The anxiety hit out of nowhere — or maybe it got louder. Sleep disruption, irritability, brain fog, a sense that you're losing yourself. Hormonal shifts are real, and they deserve more than a juice cleanse or another supplement stack.

Life Transitions

Career pivots, divorce, relocation, kids leaving for college, an identity shift you didn't see coming. Change — even wanted change — can trigger anxiety you didn't expect and grief you don't have language for yet.

The Emptiness Behind the Highlight Reel

You have the life people envy — the house, the career, the curated Instagram. And you still feel empty, anxious, or quietly resentful. Saying that out loud feels ungrateful. It's not. It's honest — and it's the starting point for real change.

My Approach

Evidence-based therapy, not another wellness trend

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) — two of the most researched and effective approaches for anxiety. CBT produces large effect sizes (g > 0.80) for anxiety disorders. These aren't abstract theories; they're practical, structured frameworks that give you tools you can use between sessions.

I also take a whole-person perspective — paying attention to how stress shows up in your body, your sleep, your hormones, and your relationships. Anxiety doesn't exist in a vacuum, and neither does healing.

Sessions are 50 minutes via secure, HIPAA-compliant video. You can be at home in Pacific Palisades, in your office in Santa Monica, or in your car after school pickup in Brentwood — wherever you have privacy and a reliable connection.

Yes. I'm a California-licensed psychologist specializing in anxiety, perfectionism, and burnout for high-achieving women. I serve clients throughout Los Angeles and the Westside via secure teletherapy. No commute, no sitting on the 405 — just effective, evidence-based therapy from wherever you are.

Intake sessions are $225 and ongoing sessions are $200 (50 minutes). I'm in-network with Carelon Behavioral Health in California. I also accept private pay, HSA/FSA cards, and provide monthly superbills for out-of-network reimbursement — many PPO plans reimburse 50–80% after the deductible.

I offer teletherapy via secure, HIPAA-compliant video. Research shows teletherapy is as effective as in-person therapy for anxiety, and it eliminates the LA commute entirely. You can have your session from home in Pacific Palisades, your office in Beverly Hills, or anywhere with a private, reliable connection.

I'm based in Mountain Time (MT), which is one hour ahead of Pacific Time. If you're in LA and schedule a 5 PM session, that's 6 PM my time. Many clients find this works well — an end-of-day session after work wraps. Scheduling is flexible and accommodates Pacific Time availability.

I also take a whole-person perspective, paying attention to how stress shows up in your body, your sleep, your hormones, and your relationships.
